Weird problem - I currently have no EF lenses, only my EFs kit lens. I have a fairly nice Eos 700 35mm body which I would like to test, but of course EFs lenses don't fit into EF because they protrude too far back.

My "brilliant" way around this was going to be to test it by putting the lens into an extension tube and test aperture control etc. in close focus. Unfortunately the lens doesn't seem to be responding at all. I'm hoping that this is just incompatibility between the body and lens, rather than the body being kaput. Anyone know?

I ought to be getting an old EF 100-300 zoom next week which will hopefully settle the issue, but it would be nice to know if anyone else has tried this and got results.

Never mind, found a Canon-fit Tamron, it turns out that it's the camera that's faulty.
