What's the correct etiquette for posting photo's?
I noticed on the "black and white" section there are multiple pages and contributors, but on the majority of other topics, there seems to be only one. Do I simply "join in" on a thread, or do I need to create my own to avoid offending the OP?
Also, I notice most have their own personal gallery. Does this build up naturally as you contribute pics, or is it something that has to be created?
    Thanks.

Just join in with an existing thread if you wish. Or feel free to start a new thread. If you add to an existing thread, that thread goes to the top of the page. You are correct in saying that most threads are single person, but there are a number of multiple user and page threads. Just post under the post your photos part. Just join in, and if you're doing something wrong, one of us will point you in the right direction.

The biggest hassle I have is a image size that is too big, there is a limit, a message will come up telling you this, if this happens go back to your original file and save it as a smaller sized file and try again. You should be ok.

Craig, Do you know what the minimum size is? I haven't been able to find it (thinking it would be in "how to post photos" thread ;) Thanks

    Hi Tracy,
I don't think that there is a minimum size but I wouldn't be worrying about that. I find that images should be at a size that makes them easy to see and appreciate. With the images that I post here I resize them to 1920 pixels on the long edge and then use the "Upload a File" option and then display the full image. Like so:
    C0EW1975_ACDC.jpg

And then you can click on the image to see it full size.

Hello Tracy, not sure if this is what you want but when you upload a image, you get a choice of a thumbnail, (this will be the minimum size you are inquiring about) or a full size image. Not being overly computer literate, This is the best advice I can give.
At the beginning of this post there is a explanation on uploading a image by Phil the Administrator, may also be of help
Any farther info or help may I suggest you direct your inquiry to Johnsey as he is most knowledgeable in this area.
All the best with it. Falling this there are others on the forum who may be of help, such as Rayallen or Gary (GDN).

Who are you asking? The nature of this part of the forms is to share images for others to see, in this thread alone several people have shared images.

Obviously nobody can stop you from saving an image to your computer for your own personal reference and inspiration if that is your intention.... However if you asked me for one of my images I would ask you what you mean by "HAVE"?? I would not just give out permission to pint or sell my images.
If you want to use anyone's images for a specific reason you should be asking the photographer for each individually.

My simple point was that you probably wont get much of response form anyone if you don't call out exactly who and what image and how it will be used. A blanket ask like that isn't ideal.

You wont be able to save the images effectively in the Instagram app on your phone, like any website you can log in and right click and save the file as a jpg on your computer.

Web images are only so large no matter if they are on a photo forum, a personal portfolio website or Instagram because they are made to display on computer or mobile device, they should work ok for a dvd style video but you may have issues with some of them depending on how large the shared image is.

    Thank you so much
about saving all my family photos on instagram i was taught by a friend of mine how to upload photos via insta zoom (you can also refer to it) but save the pictures on forum before me I'll ask for a general opinion and then I'll text each person with the photos to ask for their permission for the photos I want

Hey hi, sorry for that but I don't think so you'll insert here to much bigger file size images, because you'll insert some link here like this image file it is 10MB file and It's working fine. If you'll have some more bigger file then you'll have to compress your images through online application such as Compress Jpeg and so many other applications available on internet so you'll have to compress them and upload. Thank you.
