    Hi there,

I own a Canon C200 and a Canon XF-605. Each came with a genuine Canon BP-A30 battery of course, and a single position canon charger. I have purchased an additional 2 batteries, all original Canon batteries. Has anyone tried 3rd party chargers like VidPro, Watson, Dolgin? I won 't risk 3rd party batteries but I am not sure about 3rd party chargers.

Not Cine camera guy but I own several generations of dSLRs and I would honestly trust the third party battery before the charger. That said i only have two aftermarket batteries (Ravpower and i charge them on their charger). Quality seems ok, i only have used a few times in an emergency situation.

Bottom line, there is a number of things happening on the circuit board inside the charger and I would be more worried about a 3rd party charger frying my expensive batteries than the other way around. ( Own several generations of 5D's and LP batteries) Of course my price point is noticeably cheaper than yours for a battery or charger. Hopefully we have a few Cine camera users who can chime in with their experience instead of my 2 cents.

Thanks for your perspective. There is no "REAL" place to go to get answers on this. Canon of course says only use their batteries and chargers, which may be the absolute truth. Problem is, there are LOTS of alternatives from LOTS of suppliers at LOTS of lower prices, and who knows whether any of them are ok or not. No one seems to have an actual answer. I wish IN understood what was happening in the charger to know if one was as good as another.

Welcome to the forum, Gorilla, Johnsey is correct about the quality of after market chargers, if you purchase one, get a couple of after market batteries as well, the batteries do not last as long but will give you a alternative power supply, I have had no issues with my cameras using them.

Thanks for your thoughts. Not sure what I am going to do. Talked to BHPhoto today... they said all the chargers they sell should be fine but of course, they can't promise anything. Also talked to Dolgin Engineering, they make some 4 position chargers for the Cine batteries. The guy was very knowledgeable, he was one of their engineers, said they have never had a problem, but there is that nagging... not authorized by Canon doubt. I had a Cannot QL25! Loved that camera.

Gorilla, like anything whether camera gear or something else, getting advice from other people will based on their needs and experience , you simply have to try things for yourself.
