Bright sunlight

    Is there a canon paper that when printing can tone down the effect of bright sunlight? Also, can you suggest how elements 14 might help when editing. Have tried reducing exposure and adjusting light but to little effect.

    Based on your question I assume idea hear is to adjust only the highlights, not overall exposure. You can tweak this using levels and curves to bring down highlights. That is where much work on highlights and shadows was done before Lightroom took the work out of it. You should be able to find some video tutorials on yourtube.
