This months photo topic is "Happy Holiday's". I know its wide open, but should allow anyone freedom to shoot their own application of the holidays. :) (I know not everyone may have snow, or celebrate the same holidays)

    Happy shooting!

    Again, the rules are simple:
    • Should be be using some canon gear , this is a canon forum after all.
    • Shot with the assignment in mind, go out and shoot something new don't dig up something from the archives.
    • and most importantly have fun.

i did have a special suggestion for december as bonus round, but never got the chance to put it forward.
The idea was to combined two or more of this years subjects in one shot.
ie : a green glass in a sunset would combined 3.
is there any interest in this either as a bonus round here or in a separate thread?

Sometimes Christmas turn to a bit of a disaster, we have had a few windy nights down here in Tasmania and the stuffings has been blown out of Santa. Christmas disaster.jpg

I had a little plant "Schlumbergera" or Christmas cactus, and at the beginning of November it bloomed, I thought they would shine for Christmas, but the flowers withered on the 20th of this month. On Christmas day I realized that a "Phalenosis" Orchid had flowered for the second time, decorating the house a bit for these holidays.

The photographs that I send are the following:

2.- Phalenosis, behind this, you can see part of the Schlumbergera plant.

I wish you all a Merry Christmas and may next year be better than this.

Not very xmasy, but some green christmas Holly, with some rust and a bit of bokeh

    Both shot with the 18-150mm @ 129mm, ƒ6.3, 1/250, auto iso 2500 top / 5000 bottom

I thought more people would have liked the challenge of combinding this years subjects

I'd like to suggest signs for January, ie street signs or any other types of signs or labels.

Perhaps in the coming months we can narrow the limit the subject down as i do think limitations inspire creativeness even if its one or two months.

    A little Canon stuff
    I like the idea Caladina.

I am not speaking for anyone else, but this holiday period is just manic with work. Also, I have a sizable project about to kick off in life, and I am not going to have much camera time which is a bummer. I will still contribute where possible.

I'll keep an eye out and have a think about a subject that fits the challenge.

Christmas is over for the year but as I looked around for a nice Christmas image, I notice very few Christmas displays around compared to previous years, It may well have been the closing of state borders where familys are separated and not in the state at this time, My neighbor across the road always has a display in his front garden but for the first time this year he did not bother.
