using my eos rp at a race meeting found its achilees heel The focusing is rather slow so thinking of getting an eos 90d for fast movin stuff any comments advice appreciated Thanks
I have used the 90D for filming and static shots and found it a very nice camera to use, compared to the 60D which I own it is vastly improved. Could be a worth while investment, given the cost of the camera, though may I suggest you rent one for the weekend and test it out.
I am not sure about your particular lens model but some lenses have a switch to limit the focus range. If that is enabled, and you are trying to focus on something closer than its minimum distance, it hunts. Canon EOS 90D is a good choice to consider.
the tamron i use has the switch it makes no difference the autofocus slow hopefully have a 90d tomorrow
I have just purchased a refurbished 90D which should arrive shortly I hope. We'll have to compare settings to get the best out of it. I'm trying it out with a Sigma EX 100-300 which I previously used on a 1D Mk II N and 1D Mk III and which I found to be fast focusing and durable. I sold all my old Canon gear to concentrate on my 60 year love affair with Pentax. I've heard good things about the 90D and want to try it out against my Pentax gear.
great be good to get some feedback i took some pics at a motor speed event with tamron 50-600 used high shutter speeds for best results used it today for ponies some moving quickly with tamron 1-400 1/200 to 400 shutter speed iso auto and 400 im happy with most shots hope you enjoy yours
Welcome to the forum, pity you had to sell the 1D mark 3, I have this camera and enjoy it very much, still the 90D is an excellent camera, I have used it mainly for video work and got some very nice results.
For the same reason I have a set of 40 year old lenses for my Pentax DSLRs. Much more reasonably priced and still give excellent quality images.
