All my equipment was recently stolen...waiting for insurance company. Then plan to go with EOS R, 24-105 kit...more to follow
Recently had almost all of my camera equipment stolen (Canon EOS 60D, EF 10-22, EF 18-135, EF 70-200 f4L, EF 70-300, EF 100 f2.8 Macro and Speedlight EX430). Waiting on insurance company. Still have my Sigma 150-600 lens. Thinking seriously about EOS R with RF 24-105 kit. Not sure what to add, but thinking about Tamron 70-200 f/2.8 and possibly Tamron 24-70 f/2.8 because of image stabilization. May also add a macro lens later. Any suggestions on my plan and/or for other lens options. Canon 70-200 f/2.8 IS is a possibility, but is almost too expensive. Let me know what you think. Looking forward to the dialog.

Sorry about all of your stolen equipment. Welcome to the forum. Depending upon the amount of settlement you receive, you may want to consider the used market for your replacement choices. Good luck and keep us posted.

Hello and welcome to the forum.

That is not nice to hear.

Sounds as if you have a good plan. I have the Tamron 70-200 in another mount, and really like it.

Thanks porkphoto...I was really bummed by the theft...felt really violated, but my wife reminded me that I now might be able to get some of the equipment I have been looking at (always a silver lining in every dark cloud for her). I have been taking pictures for a long time, but never very seriously...lots of landscape stuff and some family pics. Never realized how precious they were until i lost all 4 memory cards with literally thousands of pics. Fortunately most are backed up on my computer, but lost the last couple of months pics for good. Insurance money on its way... will see what i can do with it. Thanks for the reply...

Thanks for the reminder. Been kind of busy with some medical issues and haven't checked back in with the forum lately. Insurance money has come in and I have purchased a Canon EOS R body, an RF 24-105mm f/2.8L IS USM lens so far. I also have a Sigma 150-600mm that did not get stolen. That's it so far. I am kind of waiting to see how expensive the new RF 70-200 f/2.8L and the RF 15-35 f/2.8L will be once it is put on the market. Not sure I can afford that much, but waiting to see. If not, I may go for a Tamron 70-200 f/2.8 G2 and then a 2.8 wide angle. I will also eventually pick up a 100mm f/2.8L macro IS lens as I love taking photos of flowers and bugs and stuff. That's it for now. Trying to be patient to see if the new RF lenses are actually released by the end of this month or later in the summer/fall. Thanks again for the shout out. Have a great day!
