There are 2 images options that I can choose from, raw and compact raw. But no matter which one I choose, it still ends up with .cr3 when I export to my PC. However when I view these images in the camera, it shows up as RAW or Compact RAW.
Any ideas how to take pictures as RAW(.tiff or .dng)?
My camera is a canon m200.

It does not matter what camera you buy, every brand has their own raw as well as a jpg option.

You need to convert to DNG or export as tiff in your editor if you want to use either of those. I started out exporting to tiff 20 years ago, in the last decade I just moved my workflow to import into a catalog of light room all my raw images and manage saving the changes in the catalog /sidecar files to save a lot of space. I still export jpg for web or printing but having 3 formats (Raw/Tiff/ Jpg copies) eats up a lot of space. I still use tiff as my main format for scanning film.
