I shoot other brands for digital and medium format but still love to break out my A1 with the 35-105 for a walk around shoot! How about you?

Oh yes, and what a fine piece of equipment the A-1 is. I had one a few years ago, along with a fixed 200 f4. a 135 f2.8, and a 50mm. Your 35-105 would be a dandy. The A-1 is all metal and a joy to shoot.

The best film camera I ever owned was an F1 with the old sports viewfinder (the one that swivelled so it could be used at eye level or looking down) and a 50mm 1.4 - cost me an arm and a leg but I had a lot of fun with it. But I'm all digital these days.

I have very fond memories of my A-1 in the '80s...

My first SLR was a Canon FTb. No longer have it, but recently acquired several used Canon film bodies and lenses. All good.

I am a fan of the T90, not being able to use my FD lenses on Canon EOS digital lead me to buying a Pentax K100D Super when I might have gone for a Canon 400D. I still have my T90, plus another that I picked up (with the screw cap cover to the remote connection missing). I should really get them out and use them. I hopefully have incorporated an image of my original investment in Canon, cost many weeks wages then. IMGP1391 (1024x683).jpg

I learned to photograph on an Exacta Varex with a 58mm Zeiss Biotar from my father. I got back into photography later in the digital area now with a 100D but still mainly manual lenses from Zeiss, enjoying the best from both worlds :) Recently bought a Zenit EM for the lens on it; a Helios 44M (Russian Biotar copy) and although this lens has a nice character on digital, I might purchase a film roll and try it out.

I have some great Canon FD gear --- one evening at Barking PS a member said to me he was fed up as he never 'won' anything and would sell ALL his Canon gear to anyone who offered £150 -- so I offered and got FTBn+ 24mm f2.8, 50mm f1.4, 100mm f2.8, 200mm f4. FD SSC lenses, extension tubes, Canon 'booster' ( since broken) , lots of Filters . I have won many awards with that gear ! I have since been GIVEN a good A-1 outfit but the Motor Wind 'A' packed up working and it had the infamous 'Canon Squeak' which took me a long tome to fix.

Hello, I have been getting into shooting film and developing my own. I have acquired a few FD lenses over the years to shoot with mirroless but just recently picked up a T-90 that came with the 35-105mm. I haven't shot with it yet but was wondering how good that 35-105 is?

    Thanks, Dom

You might like to check out the Canon Classics website, if it is the new FD 35-105mm, they rate it.

I handled a T-90 once - a Lady Member of my Club had one --she didn't know how to use it ! I had to clean out the corroded battery compartment as it had not been used for so long -- I read there is a 'Hidden' Lithium Battery inside that needs to be changed but only by a Canon Service Centre.

On a wim a year ago I decided to buy a few old Camera's, first I started with the ones that I had owned. Well now I have the vast majority of Pentax Manual focus bodies and 9 Pentax AF bodies. I also have a growing Canon Collection and I cant decide which is my favorite. The Pentax MX, The AE1p, or my ME-F. (my Sears KSX-P is in the running too) The biggest problem with a big collection is always having several cameras with film in them and deciding which to take along with The Digitals when I leave the house. When I go on a trip I usually pick 3, One is loaded with TriX or HP5 another with FP4 or Kentmere 100 and the third with Ektar 100.

I have a T70 and lenses with the FD and Fl mounts they range from 28 to a 600mm zoom and I use them on a 10D, 60D and 1d mark3 via an cheap adapter I purchased from ebay. Put the camera in manual or AV mode. I have had excellent results without any hassles.

Just tested out a Canon FT. Just sold a Canon FTB. Currently have an F-1 (old), AE-1 Program, and some point and shoots.

Got my EOS 30 E with eye control (it's a film EOS, not digital with D ).
Really love this camera. It's like having a full frame digital camera....
And it can accept all my Canon gear (the speedlite, the remote + timer, waist level finder).
Got a 20D and then 7D, but I feel like picture on film have more soul in it....

Here you can download a service manual for it. Probably there are many other places where you can download it. This is what was on the first page of Google search results. I am interested only in the shutter and mirror circuits and mechanics...

Oh boy, having a service manual available sounds great. Luckily both my T90s were working last time I tried them and am worried that looking prematurely might just hex one or both of them, it might just be my luck.

A cheap adapter off of ebay will allow you to use your fd lenses with the camera set to manual or AV. This setup works fine as I use fd lenses on my 10d, 60d and 1d mark 3 with no problems
