Hi, I have just purchased this for as a secondary camera. I usually shoot with an EOS1DX MKII, but am using this for going on holiday and walks with (for the lightness)

I have an older EFS 18-135 IS lens, which I never found to be that good and has been stuck in a back of a drawer for a few years.

What do you reckon could be a better lens to use, that has similar zoom ranges but gives better results?

    Thanks

I would first ask what lenses do you have on the 1dx? No need re-purchasing if you have coverage already, I never bought a EFs lens for my 20d when i got that almost 2 decades ago, I invested straight into EF knowing i could use that and have coverage for full frame later.
So what you already have should drive the decision, if you have primes but just need something really wise maybe pick up a 18-55 EFs or a 17-40 EF to give you a wide zoom, this is just an example.

Its also worth noting there are at least 3 generations of this lens, I am not sure which one you have, and I understood the newer ones were decent performers, the closest in actual zoom coverage otherwise would be the 24-105L which is EF so the wide end wont have quite the coverage with the smaller sensor. This was my reason for the prior post.
