    Hello
Has anyone else experienced self timer issues with their 60D?
UPDATE: works in all other modes except "bulb"
I was going to take photos using bulb mode on a tripod, but when I press the shutter button the self-timer doesn't enable unless I hold the shutter button defeating the purpose of using the self-timer. Have tried resetting the camera. Have update the firmware. Have removed the battery and it still doesn't work. Any ideas on how to resolve the issue short of getting the camera serviced?

I do not believe you have any issue at all, by definition bulb holds the shutter open as long as the shutter/remote shutter button is held. When combined with the 2 sec time it will wait to trip the shutter to remove camera shake while on the tripod.

How are you expecting bulb to behave?

Would an external cable release solve the problem? Or one with an interval timer built in?

I realized in hindsight that the bulb mode doesn’t use the timer except as you noted. Learning more about how my camera functions as I type here. Thanks again, Johnsey.
