Hi, does anyone any experiences with using 3rd party lenses (like Sigma or Tamron) on EOS body? Does the camera communicate with the lenses correctly? Are all features available - MF, AF, lens corrections (like distortion, digital lens optimizer), focus bracketing etc. Or generally, is there any other potential problem that comes from the fact that one is using non-canon lenses? Thanks
i use alot of sigma lenses on my eos M50 and they all work perfectly i use the canon ef to efm adapter, not sure what body you have? make sure if you have a full frame you are getting ef and not ef-s unless you have a crop mode in your body, all features work, most have the corrections data, some of the older ones may not but its never been a problem, when i use ext tubes or extenders i use the canon ones, i have heard a few people have problem with the sigma extender on canon bodies but there may be other reasons than just the extender. here is a list of lenses i use on my M50, only reason i havent gone with tameron is i got the 100-400mm sigma and its been a great lens for the last 3 years i had no reason to look else where last sigma lens got was the 105mm ƒ2.8 EX macro, works great, still available new for £250 uk
Caladina, does your partner nag you about all the lenses you have, I have a friend who does it all the time even though she is not a girlfriend and I do not wish to have her upgraded to one.
I see how that would work, you would have the skill-set to make book helves to crate a library for her.
yeah, the book cases themselves are store bought but i made wall brackets to hold them to the wall as they were just free standing ones the brackets are T shape with the upright going between the uprights of the units (there are 5 units) the genius part of this comes at the end unit where you can see the end of it, i used a thin disc to slit the book case upright in two places edge on then slid the last bracket, an L shape, into the wood itself and used a fixing screw through there to grip it unseen the shelves are mounted to the wall also standing on a thick table high shelf like a kitchen work surface, then there is space in front for the rest of lifes clutter
How does the shelves themself hold up under the weight of the books , a lot of cheaper shelves do not hold up and bow in shape, usually requiring a support under the shelf.
pretty well actully, they are John Lewis ones i went for the 18mm shelf thickness, they are only chip board but the metal clips they rest on have a pin that also hooks into the bottom of the shelf at each corner so that may also pull on it to stop them bowing as much
ha ha ha, they are just the ones she can fit on the shelves, there are around twice as many. what with the camera lenses and the shoes....................maybe 8 pairs are Ruths, the rest are mine, we have our vices lol
I am not surprised, you are two young healthy women, clothng and shoes are generally a passion. Remember I volunteer at Vinnies (an OP shop) and and see this all the time. We have racks and Racks of ladies attire and shoes by the gross load, mens clothing is contained on one rack. Larger Ladies who have been blessed with a more ample size, their clothes are somewhat less and have to fight over them with strange men who have a passion for womens clothing. personally I stick to tracky dacks, a tee shirt and sandshoes.
